Let me start this off with I don't care about price or if it requires AUX or if it has Bluetooth.
I only care about how loud it is, how clear that sound is, and how nice the bass is.

I'm working as a tool and die apprentice and want to bring my own sterio in to listen to my music while working without the safety hazard of earphones. Though nothing I bring in is loud enough to conquer the machines. Now I'm not saying it has to be godlike in loudness where all you can hear is the music in the entire factory... but enough where if I'm 5 feet away from it I can hear it really well over the machines. Another great perk that'd help me weigh my decision on what speaker to get would be how durable it is. Since I'm working in a factory it'd be nice if the speaker can handle a factory setting.

I had a JBL Charge 2 before it randomly stopped working and even that seemed a bit too quite. Before that I had the JBL Micro Pro.

I just don't want to spend another $100+ on a speaker that isn't loud enough for what I want.

The gold standard right now is Logitech's UE Boom series. It won't be cheap at $200, but you should get the sound you're expecting. And if you're determined to go all-out, there's always the $300 Megaboom.

Bose Soundlink Mini 2.

And I'm not a Bose fan, have bought 6 of them so far, keep giving them away to family members.

I love my UE Boom. At full volume you won't get the 12 hours of battery it promises. I feel like I've flattened mine in 4-5 hours at constant full volume. I guess others are similar, but its something else to keep in mind.

How long does the battery last on that?

On the newest model ~10 hours.

I've listened to/owned a ton of different BT speakers, I love the Bose Soundlink Mini, just got a "2", and it sounds great, better battery life, has a micro USB charging port, and it'll allow for firmware upgrades, and functions as a phone extender with a microphone.

Can't tell you how many double takes people do when they hear/see it, especially because of the size.

Bose Soundlink Mini 2! I use the 1 but I heard the demo of the soundlink mini 2 the other day. I don't think you can go wrong with it.

In a friggin tool & die shop and everyone suggesting fragile electronics, lol.

Look at the various Milwaukee radios and pick out the one that suits you best. Get a big battery and charger and you will be set.
