My g/f's looking to get a new CD player for college, since her last one broke, and I'm helping her look, but there's a strong chance that I'll sell her my current one (Sony D-EJ815 or something).....it's really nice, and in immaculate condition, and obviously I wouldn't sell it to her for much (don't start on me about selling it to her, we've talked about it). But then I'd need something to replace my mobile audio needs, and since all my music is in MP3s these days, I figure why not.

I've read good things about the Bantam BA350 and the Intel Pocket Concert, but what other should I look at, for a good size, sound, capacity, and hopefully somewhere around $150? Maybe there's a site that's reviewed them all lately?

Thanks.

If you'd like a mp3/cd player you should go with the Rio Volt, or one of the slim mp3 cd players. But if size doesn't matter to you then I would say Rio Volt 250

Wow! Nice! It takes CF cards. Now put to all my small ones to some use.

Get an MP3 CD player. You can play all your CDs that you have already, and burn off MP3s to a CD for lots of music on a disc. You can get them for like $100, they sound great, and are fairly Portable.

I have to second the Rio Volt recommendation if you are looking at a CD-based mp3 player.

If it were me, I would go with the iPod but that is out of your price range.

I am still waiting for a high-end, really well-designed 3" CD MP3 player. It seems to me this is the ideal format for MP3s, since it permits essentially limitless storage while still having a small, light player. I have tried the Compaq and Philips players, but both have problems.
