Best Portable Jumper?

I recently had to change the battery in my car, and I realized that I could have saved much of a hassle if I had a portable jumper with me. Having a new battery hopefully I won't need it for myself anytime soon, but in case someone I know needs a jump, I'd like to have one. I've been looking
here but don't really know much about brand quality in this particular product niche

They don;t hold their charge forever. So it has to either be plugged in when not in use or charged when needed. So don;t plan on keeping in the trunk all the time. Better to have good jumper cables.

Most seem to be about the same. I have see cheaper ones last years and more cotly ones break. The biggest part to go bad is of course the battery.

They don't last very long in my experience.. I bought mine from costco so I can take it back if it ever starts acting up. I believe it was ~$90 and has a built in flood light and air pump.

i have a $20 one from pepboys. Very small, its always on charge at home. The times people have called me i bought the box and cables. 90% of the time the box did its job. Its good for a simple jump like a weak battery but its not good/strong enough to jump a COMPLETELY dead battery. The time it failed me was when the battery was completely dead, so even 5 minutes with jumper cables didn't cut it.

AAA is truly the best. Outside of them as long as you keep whatever you are going to use charged up, they all work about the same (which is usually being dead too when needed 😉)

My experience with AAA has been mixed. I've dated a few girls who've used them

Flat tire on a road trip - no problem

Car died and needed towed - tow truck driver was extremely sketch, trying to get her to let him drop her off. I came and picked her up.

Locked keys in car x 2 - one guy was fine, used a slim jim and popped the lock. The second time they tried to use some airbag crap to seperate the window away from the frame of the car enough to reach in and unlock it. It pained me to watch it, I would have never let them do this to my vehicle.

I bought one for like $29.99 at autozone back in the day, it still works fine. Probably normally $49.99

It needs to be fully charged to get a totally dead v8 5.3cl to crank over, but it CAN work. It is much easier to jump a barely dead battery or a smaller one.

Want some good times? Just walk around a tailgating area at the end of a big game with one and you can get loaded with free dinner/drinks
