best portable desktop?

so, I'm in the market for a new notebook.

I bought my original laptop 2 years just to be able to watch movies in my bedroom or stay online on the road, but lately I've been wishing I had something beefier, that I could use for gaming on the road or when dog-sitting for my parents or, hell, just something I could plop down on my coffee table and play WoW while watching tv in my living room.

any suggestions? I'm basically looking for something that can play world of warcraft + vent flawlessly without having to lower every video setting to the lowest.

size/weight aren't a huge concern and I'd "like" to spend under 2.5K.

um... well basically any laptop on the market today that costs more than say... $600 will fit that bill.

I am not sure where exactly people got the impression that WoW is hard to run, but it is getting ridiculous.

if you want to spend under 2500 you can find any notebook with 8600 video card and Core 2 Duo for a better gaming....Any brand name of notebook you like.

one more thing add 2GB of memory..high end notebook can go up to 4GB.

WoW's not "hard" to run, but it does take decent specs to have a solid frame rate with all the graphic settings turned up in a 25-40 man raids.

and as a gamer, you never know what game is going to catch my attention next week 🙂

XoticPC.com the Sager 9261 is probably the beefiest laptop money can buy. Quad core CPU's and come Dec 6th they will begin taking preorders for the 8800m GTX in SLI and single card flavours. A toned down version can be bought for around 2.5k I believe. It's pretty much a mobile desktop. Then check www.notebookreview.com they have a couple of reviews on it.

Two things wrong with that HP machine. It uses an AMD CPU. The Sager can use a Quad Core Intel. And the HP only has an ATI HD 2600 XT, the Sager can use dual 8800m GTX's.
