Set up an e-mail/http server with RedHat. Its easy to do, and you control how stable it is, the bandwidth, file size limits, domain, etc.

I use mainly Yahoo! and I pretty much like it a lot. Yahoo, unlike Hotmail, does not get that much spam. Plus it's free!

I use mochamil. It's free and I've never, ever gotten any spam. You can use as pop and webmail when away from your computer. It's been very reliable.
