Best Playstation games for 8-10 yr olds?

OK, my nephews are getting a Playstation 2 for Xmas and so I want to get them some games... their mom insists that they only play NON VIOLENT games.... sheeesh.... so what are the best games? I don't know anything about this stuff.

so what all does that leave you with? non violent racing games(ie games where u arent blowing up the other guys car) and puzzle games?

oh ya...i forgot about that sports category....but just having to watch those games makes me violent

I have a 10 and almost-8 yo and they are both fans of the "Harvest Moon" games (psx, n64 and gbc), I don't know specifically about the psx2 version but it looks like it would have the same appeal.

The Sypro games might be good for a kid in that age range. They have cartoon violence but it's not like VC. Sure he has fire breath but the enemies just fall back and disapear.

Dance Dance Revolution. It will wear them out so they're not hyper.
