Use Steam, they have the best games and awesome deals.

Origin is a far second behind steam.

Last, download from the game's site. I play Rift a lot and they came out with Glyph; their download program for their games.

Anyway Steam is great. But they don't seem to have deals anymore. I've been buying stuff from sites with better deals and I prefer Steam codes. Even Ubi games just preload better and update better if you bought it on Steam over Uplay.
 
Steam or Origin. Both have worked flawlessly for me, Origin gives you freebies on occasion though, which is pretty sweet.
