Hey, I'm trying to help role out a new network @ my home church and I would like to know if anyone here knows of a good place to buy MS Office XP LEGALLY for a good discount for non-profits? How 'bout Norton Antivirus? I guess Star Office would always be a nice cheap alternative, but I think that I'd PAY for MS before I'd try to train 'em all on new Office Software! :D hehehheeh.
Anyhow, any help is MUCH appreciated! :D

Thanks in Advance!

I'll call those #'s tomorrow and see what kind of prices they give me. Although I'm afraid that it may actually be CHEAPER right now to buy the individual copies from Staples using a $70 off of $300! :D

I checked pricewatch for Norton AV and found the 2002 v.8 there. Even if that's 2002...will it work for the rest of THIS year? Like, could I buy it @ the discounted rate (around $5) and have it work for a full year still?

TIA! :D

Try Open Office

It's almost exactly like Office xp. It can open and create the usual MS Office XP documents too such as word documents and powerpoint presentations.

Try to find someone that works at MS and get them to buy it for you at the company store. Dirt cheap there. I believe that MS will also do a 1:1 match of any software that someone buys for a non-profit, too..

Hey!

just wanted to thank you guys again for posting here. The staff is uncomfortable trying anything new...regardless of the NO COST option it has! :D Ahh well. CDW did quote me $70 per license and a one time $30 media charge Not TOO bad for OfficeXP prof. ;) eh?

anyhow...thank you guys AGAIN for your help!

OH, btw...don't try to get Norton for a religious org...it doesn't work...oh...and they don't give ya a cut on that either through CDW. :( ahh well...can't win 'em all!:D

Thanks again and God Bless!
