Best place to pirate movies?

They should have named them as the "Axis of Evil" in order to communicate how important this problem is and how dastardly these bastards are.

Dear MPAA, sell your movies online DRM free, just like music, so I can put them on my server and stream them anywhere in the house using non-proprietary software (ie XBMC). Then I'll buy them like they're going out of style.

When Apple went DRM free for songs, it didn't exactly destroy their bottom line or the music industry. Either that or the movie industry needs to go to an all-you-can-eat streaming buffet like music. Current model is anti-consumer. Makes moving your stuff around a colossal pain.

IIRC Apple Music sales are down 12% this year. Pretty much destroyed their bottom line.

It annoys tech savvy people like us, but your average consumer will likely just buy the same songs over again if they can't move them over from their old platform.

Never underestimate the buying power of lazy stupid people with a credit card.

Yeah... if you're downloading stuff from these places, now might be a good time to stop. You're being tracked, and expect a cease and desist letter in the mail soon.
 
Yeah I'd probably avoid those places for now if you live in the states.

Heck, even if you don't, they can just extradite you if they really want to. Copyright laws are probably as powerful as terrorism laws, if more powerful.

Didn't we already debunk this with steam and video games? Piracy of games used to be a lot bigger, now most people are happy to wait for a steam sale and buy everything off there. Can't even remember the last game I pirated. Steam saw the market wanted a place to access and buy all of their games and manage them all with one piece of software, steam delivered, now it's the largest gaming platform out there.

I think that I stopped pirating games when I got a job that let me actually pay for them.

Well... that and a bunch of the copy protection cracks out there are trojan horse malware.
