Might work well in a vm, and I'd prefer 2kpro. Less activation nonsense, and it's a bit lighter than xp.The older games may not run on the new hardware.
Thanks, I've checked into it, but apparently it's a poorly-coded game (according to many reviews from people trying to run it on newer systems). It seems the best way to get this to work is to partition the HDD and dual-boot XP.Good Lord, someone wanting to buy a copy of Windows XP in 2017? I would check GOG.com for newer versions of those games that will work on current versions of Windows.
Or you could run Linux and run those old games using Wine as I had some good luck doing that before.
Bummer, I thought this could help you with that. Thanks, I've checked into it, but apparently it's a poorly-coded game (according to many reviews from people trying to run it on newer systems). It seems the best way to get this to work is to partition the HDD and dual-boot XP.
If anyone's wondering, the game in question is Star Wars Episode 1 Racer.
I'd greatly appreciate this. So long as it would work just do dual-boot and install/run games from.I have some spare XP licences that you won't have any activation difficulties with.
The game I'm trying to run is not compatible with 64-bit systems - hence the reason why I want a 32-bit system.if you wanna run games, i believe you are much better on the 64 version. If you need it as an everyday OS, then not. Because drivers for stuff, like printers, are next to impossible to find.
I came across this bit of information that you might find useful.Newegg won't sell them anymore and Amazon seems to be either extremely cheap (with no indication if it's 32 or 64) or extremely expensive.
I'm just looking to dual boot on a partitioned HDD so I can use XP to run older games.
