Best place to get a COACH purse?

I bought my GF's at Parisian. It was on sale and a whole lot cheaper than the coach store. It may have been last seasons version or whatever, but she liked it anyway and I saved like 45% off what it should have been. Its only a purse, but I guess it could have been worse.

I know you can buy them from the NEX if you're military. Buy her one of those fake Coach bags and see if she notices. If she doesn't, score. If she does, you'll be in the dog house.

you'll be worse off if she doesn't notice and her friends do... you've just embarassed her to hell...

a coach purse has a llifetime guarentee and will wear like iron. no knock off will hold up the same way. there is a definate difference in quality and you can tell.

Why do I suspect that's just rationalizing a ridiculous wasteful purchase?

 i believe you get what you pay for.

A purse with the brand name "Coach" on it. Whoop de freakin' doo.

So you think Tommy Hilfiger jeans (or whatever designer name du jour) are just so much better than some other brand? Righto.

What difference does it make if it lasts "forever" when the kind of people who'd buy a Coach bag are the kind of people who buy a new one every 6 months?

And interestingly, my wife's purse (from Target or Kohl's or something like that) is showing no signs of wear after who knows how long. :Q

You can waste your money on whatever you want, I'm just glad my wife is a little more sensible with money. 🙂

depends on your wife/girlie's tastes. All very nice, though. The black leather is a little conservative, but the other 2 are a little bit too loud.

hrmm, which one would be more for going out? She's 28 so it's not like she'll be clubbing a lot ... so she'll prob. use it when she goes out shopping, dinner, etc.

I personally like the patch and the black one. The 'classic' one might be too boring ?

Patchwork - ugly IMHO.
Black nylon - looks nice
Other one - also looks nice, and it prominently declares that it is a Coach bag, which is of course the whole point of buying a Coach bag.

See, that's what gets me about these things... if it really was about the quality and not the prestige, they wouldn't have to put their name all over it.

yeah, but if the lady wants it, then I'll get it; whatever makes her happy. Guess you can make the same argument with a xbox360 ...

this is so interesting...
you men are just... wow.
I have MANY purses from target and where ever... along with my coach purses.
I wear my purses to the ground and the ones i got at target or Kmart have fraying and wearing out.
not my coach purses.
I cannot belive you guys will rag on me because i like good quality items that i wear everyday.
Talk about being cheap.
there is no use arguing with you.

Maybe you have different usage habits than my wife, because she's never had a purse "wear out." Nobody cares if you want to spend your money on Coach bags, you're just trying to justify it with nonsense. The idea that you can't get a good quality bag for less than the $150-400 a Coach bag costs is just silly and naive. You're willing to pay extra for the name.

I don't recall anyone saying you couldn't get a quality bag for cheaper. But are you doing the exact same thing? Rationalizing buying cheaper stuff because in YOUR case, you've seen your wife's cheaper bags wear just fine? By your rationale, everyone should buy a Hyundai instead of a Honda, just because 1 person claims they're just as reliable, do the same function, and cost less.

God forbid someone actually like what they get for the money when they buy a coach bag.

My wife has several. Less than half have Coach, or the "C" plastered all over it. Her favorite is big, and red. The only place it's evident it's coach is on the inside liner. Yet it's her oldest, most used, yet aside from a couple pen marks from our then 2.5yr old son, it still looks amazing.

I'm assuming you use generic computer cases, basic no-name RAM, and other off the wall generic computer equipment simply because it lasts just as long and was cheaper??

And last I checked, the OP didn't ask IF they should buy a Coach bag...So perhaps you should save your "answer" for when the question it applies to, is asked.

Perhaps if you read the thread from the beginning, you'd see the conversation I'm replying to and understand what I'm getting at.

And perhaps if you read my post a little more carefully, you'd understand what it said. 😉

I simply said that using quality to justify buying a Coach bag is silly, clearly there is more to it than that, because you can get a quality bag for much less. There is something other than quality that compells people to pay $150-400 for a Coach bag. That's all.

As for your assumptions - I had a generic case, but I retired it when I got a hand-me-down Antec from my father-in-law. I have no idea what brand my RAM is, sorry. I'm pretty sure my computer equipment has names... names like GeForce2 (or is it a GeForce3? I forget), Athlon XP 2200+... I'm not sure what all that has to do with Coach bags though. 🙂

Last I checked, I did reply to the OP's updated question (posted later in the thread) in a separate post. I gave him honest advice on the Coach bags he was looking at. I also replied to other people's posts, and everything I said was relevant to something someone else posted in this thread. 🙂

Outlet is a hit or miss. Sometimes it's cheaper. Other times it's not. Outlet only stocks older models so your choice is limited.

I would just get it at the Coach company store in malls or via their internet store. Your selection is better and you know you're getting the real thing.

I actually like Coach products. I like their leather and think it's relative bargain compared to its peers. I don't mind at all when my wife wants a Coach bag or wallet. LV or Burberry on the otherhand, I hate those. Unfortunately LV is my wife's favorite and Burberry is my mom's so I have to put up with it.
