Well, my gf cracked the 15" XGA sceen on my inspiron 1100 so it's time for a new screen. What's a good reputable place to find a good deal on one? Also can anyone tell me how dificult they are to replace? Any good write ups I should read before tearing into it? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Dell is very good about take apart guides. You just have to go to the support site, put in your model number and you should be able to get the info on how to take it apart. You should actually take it apart first because you will need the actual LCD manufacturer's part number. Then with that, just do a search on eBay. That is by far the cheapest place to get LCD panels. You can probably search by your laptop model number, but generally you get a better deal if you know the actual part number because most people that are looking for screens just know their laptop model. Thus lots of listed panels that are just manufacturer numbers don't get bid on because people don't know which laptops they go to.

Thanks

One more thing: DO NOT buy any LCDs from a seller Bobsbid1. They say they "test" their screens, but they are all bad. Plus, they don't stand behind their items and give out retalitory feedback.
