Where's a good place to buy models these days? I haven't built one in 20+ years and the local hobby shop prices are outrageous. Now my son is interested in model building so I need to update/refresh my model building supplies a bit :)

Any other advice on the best glue, paints, any good model building web pages, etc... would be appreciated.

TIA

I'd suggest Squadron. They started out doing mail order, so have been around a long time.

If you are lucky, you can sometimes get a kit cheap on eBay, but many of the regular sellers are overpriced.

For sites, start with:

Scale Model Index

Some other ones are:

Track-link - this has model photos, kit reviews, etc.
Kit Parade - more of the same
ww2modelmaker
Lone Senty - this is mostly military photos, not about modeling

www.hlj.com ships directly from Japan. I used to order from them when their shipping cost was reasonable. Haven't ordered from them since shipping cost went up so I'm not sure what the shipping cost is now.
