I haven't had the need to buy parts/systems in a while so I feel kinda out of the loop in terms of quality vendors for refurbished gear. I have checked the obvious Newegg, Tiger Direct, etc. and have seen some decent systems but wanted the forum members input on other options. Looking for the desktop only; no monitor, keyboard, etc.
Basically, I am trying to find a desktop PC that my daughter can play Minecraft on with decent fps.
I know I may need to purchase a few after-market upgrades like new GPU but want a decent base system to start with...I have a loose price range of $250 for both the system and any upgrades.
What I have seen thus far are some Dell Optiplex systems that have decent specs and with a new GPU may fit the bill. They are all BTX style cases though with 300 watt power supplies so the GPU options are limited.
If anyone has any suggestions on where to buy and what kind of specs I should be looking for specifically for a Minecraft playing PC I would greatly appreciate it.
