make your own.
Just echoing this guy's advice here: no serious cable installer even carries a crimp tool - the 1000' spools of cable you are buying is solid core cable and is not made for regular flexing nor is it intended to have ends crimped on them. Everyone that replies with "yeah but I make my own all the time and they're awesome dude" can pipe down until they've made them by the hundreds and had them all test out at 1000MHz on a scope. The ones you buy from a factory have already been certified, are made with stranded core cable, and are likely booted as well. Run sold core in your walls from a central patch panel to your wall jacks and punch them down with a punch-down tool. All of this stuff can now be purchased at Home Depot so you won't have to spend a lot of $$$. For the patch cables, buy them from a factory.

Uh, you can get that cable for $2.59 at monoprice.
Exactly my thoughts, works if you are in a pinch though but I wouldn't use them.Originally posted by: policy11
Did you read the post I quoted? Making your patch cables is not a good idea.
$2.59 plus about $8 minimum S&H. If you have Prime, you can do better on Amazon these days, or if you don't mind waiting a while to get them (with their free/cheap "standard" shipping), Newegg...Uh, you can get that cable for $2.59 at monoprice.
Monoprice is not bad on shipping for just a single cable. I bought cables from them and shipping is cheap.$2.59 plus about $8 minimum S&H. ETA: Whoops, I didn't notice this was an ultra-necro thread before I posted...
