Best place to buy Dell monitors

During my research about monitors over the past week I found a thread, I think it was on HardForums[x] or something, where someone mentioned that the monitors could be gotten from places other than Dell, for cheaper. Is this true, and if so, where?

I think Best Buy has Dell systems on sale, maybe they might have some of the monitors too.

Otherwise, just wait for Dell 10-day sales every month or two.

You could consider the Dell Outlet. I know all computers come with a 1 year warrenty, I don't know if they offer any warrenties on the Monitors.

People loved the $799 30" Dells from outlet because they carry the 3-yr warranty just as new ones do.

i just bought a 2408 from the for sale forums here and love it, i can not imagine what a 30 inch would look like.

The 30" look absolutely nutty coming from a 24". 75% more pixels, and 56% more screen area.

This will give you a good idea:

Select source image at the top to "none".

Put in a 24" screen on the left, 16:10 ratio, 1920x1200 resolution.
Put in a 30" screen on the right, 16:10 ratio, 2560x1600 resolution.

The smaller one is the 24" . The first time I saw a 30", with such a ridiculously large desktop area I almost shit myself.

I would definitely say that once you have a 24" screen though, it's diminishing returns. 30" is fantastic, but not necessary for me yet. Though, personally, I couldn't use anything less than 24" and 1920x1200 for my main rig anymore. 1920x1080 is a bit of a stretch. Once you go big, you can't go back!

How is the Dell 30" image quality compared to the U2410? For someone who works 12 hours / day on average. Mainly for apps and web browsing -- haven't played computer games in a couple years.

Ding. That's how I got mine. After a 15% off coupon it came to $668 shipped after tax. Had I known this killer deal wouldn't come back, I would have bought at least another. However, Dell really hasn't had any great large screen (27"-30") monitor deals in awhile .

Yup. I picked up a Dell S2309W at BB last year for $179.99 on sale. Nice monitor.

Yes, that's the one. It should be out any time now but it's kind of pricey (somewhere ~$1k) so I will wait for sales before I decide.
