Best place to buy an iPhone

Looking to replace my wife's S7 with an iPhone 8 Plus. We could go to Verizon, but not happy with the fact that they give you a refurbished unit for any manufacturer defect. The local Apple Store moved to a new upscale mall and from the reviews, they forgot to bring customer service with them. Maybe not a big deal for a new phone purchase.

Also, is AppleCare worth it? Seems like $99 is a better deal than either Verizon or Best Buy for what you get.

There's an interesting cutout with regards to making purchases. For the longest time now, the clear message has been the consumer only cares about features, quality and, price. Now, there are rumblings about service. What's a poor multi corp with billions to do? Are there no limits to these demands?
