Depends on what you're looking for. Swappa in general does not have new phones. Newegg and Amazon are both reputable and people swear by eBay but I don't trust it in general.

If I was looking to buy a Samsung device outright, I would go to Best Buy.

Direct from manufacturer? I buy all my Samsung phones directly from them. Usually trade the prior 2 year phone. Ie I gave them my note 9 for the s10+ and they took it for 550 off. When the note 10 hits I'll probably trade in my s9+. It's a sick cycle I do. You can also buy iphones from apple but they don't usually if ever have deals.

Shop around. When I was looking to buy I shopped Verizon online, Amazon, the local Verizon kiosk, Best Buy, and the manufacturer. Best Buy ended up being $100 cheaper than anywhere else at that time. The time before Amazon was the best price outright.

I'd swear by Swappa. If you stick to relatively modern devices and stick to Mint condition, you're going to save a lot of $$. I've only had a single issue there over the years, and the staff is generally pretty good to work with if you do.

It varies so much depending on what you're buying. I just setup alerts on slick deals and wait. If you're willing to have a monthly credit to your plan be part of the deal or get a BOGO deal and sell the 2nd phone, etc it changes things alot vs just looking for a straight discount.

Costco. Their crazy S9 promotion ended, but even without a big deal on offer they're usually at least a bit cheaper.
