Ok, so I'm super car noob, I haven't changed my own oil before and can barely change a tire. But my girl just challenged my manliness and said I cannot replace the side mirror on her Honda Accord. She's prob. right but I figure I can check with atoter's to minimize the damage 🙂

1. Where's the best place to get Honda replacement parts?
2. How do I actually do it? 🙂 a google search says this: http://www.ehow.com/how_2124367_replace-side-mirrors.html

any chance there are some w/ pictures? 🙂

gracias!

At a bare minimum you'll need some tools, a few standard and phillips screwdrivers of various sizes along with a metric socket set with sockets ranging between 5mm and 12mm would be a good start.

Armed with that and a little knowledge and any idiot could do this. You'll probably have to pop off a couple trim pieces and after that it's just a matter of removing a few nuts, disconnecting a wiring harness, plugging in the new unit, bolting it on and popping in the trim pieces. Honestly, I highly doubt you'll have to remove the entire door panel to do this job.

Shouldn't take more than 20 minutes.

hondapartsdeals.com is decent

What are you changing? If its the entire assembly that could get expensive, but if you are doing the whole thing its pretty much plug and play... if you are changing only the motor then it becomes more tricky

The link I had put up showed a diagram

When my wife ripped off her passenger side mirror pulling out of garage, I took it to a mechanic that put a new one on for $20 labor... I'm guessing it wasn't a tough job.
