Looking for a Christmas gift for the wife and wondering if anyone had suggestions/ideas for the best place to buy?

Rogers and Hollands seem like the least "con artist" type of "mall jewelry store" options ... maybe give them a visit.

Otherwise Costco maybe?

Believe it or not, I purchased some diamond studs from overstock.com a few years back. My budget wasn't as high, I think I spent 300-400. They were very nice though and I was pleased. Keep in mind, depending on the size of the diamonds, the clarity/cut etc are not as important because they are not as visible on a small rock.

jewelry is something that is vastly overpriced. plus most women have lots of jewelry that they rarely wear. it would be better to take you wife to a couple nice restaurants or a cruise, imo

How does this sound?

The jaw-dropping Passport Necklace sparkles with dozens of brilliant diamond rounds that culminate in a plunging 4-carat pear-cut pendant. The 18" chain showcases more than 11 carats of brilliant white rounds set in a gleaming, rhodium-plated design. The 7" companion bracelet features a pear-cut centerpiece between a garland of Diamond flowers and rhodium-plated blooms. Each Passport Earring highlights a 4-carat pear surrounded by sparkling Diamond rounds.

Sounds like more than $700 lol.

Whiteflash, james allen, blue nile, etc will all get you the most bang for your buck.
