Well, I just booked my first trip to Las Vegas. I'm by no means a high roller. I would want to know ATOT's experience for blackjack in Las Vegas. I got a great deal and will be staying at the Venetian. There's no way I'm gambling there though. I would prefer $5 - $10 tables. I'm prolli going to be betting $20 max per hand and just want to have a bit of fun but don't want to have like 6/5 payouts and random crappy rules.

Thanks!

PS. Will be going sort of midweek. Arriving Wednesday and leaving on a Saturday.

Why would you not play at the Venetian? IIRC there are $5-10 tables everywhere.

Head to the north end of the strip toward the Sahara or continue to downton.
the limits will be lower - I do not know about the payouts.

I have an Uncle that uses Harrahs everytime they visit.

oh really? I've just heard that at the bigger and more flashy casinos, you need like a min of 15 or like 25 to even play at the lowest limit tables

Venetian DOES have $5-10 tables...maybe not $5 during peak times (usually $10 is lowest during peak hours), but they do have it.

And their rules / payouts are fine, most multideck (4-6 decks) will have a 3:2 blackjack payout. It's when you get to the single deck ones where you have the 6:5 payouts. Rules, most big casinos on the strip will have the same rules.

There is a little casino called Ellis Island where you can black blackjack pretty cheap. I had decent luck there one time, but it's not on the strip so convenience may be a factor.

Read here:
Cheapo Vegas

Their reviews are pretty much dead on.

If you're looking for $5 blackjack, Tropicana and Excalibur tend to have at least a few tables around the clock.

Try downtown/Fremont. You can (or could?) get single deck 5$ games. Downtown tends to be cheaper than the strip in any case.

I'd say hop a cab and go north to the Suncoast in Henderson. Free drinks, more of a local crowd, and better table rules in favor of the player.

Go to the Venetian and play SPANISH 21. Same as regular but they pay out alot more and different types for cards:

7 cards = 6x bid

6 7 8 - 3x

etc.

Goodluck!

SunCoast is West in Summerlin.

Sunset is in Henderson.

Too much  plays havoc with ones compass.

Agree with Excalibur. I played $5 tables there the entire time I stayed.

$1 games may exist in the downtown area if you look hard.

Caesers is terrible, 25 dollar min.

Most all other casinos have 5 dollar tables. The ones downtown have smaller shoes. Most all rules are the same - typical vegas rules and surrender is allowed.

Also, my favorit casion was the Alladin, now planet hollywood. When I was their last christmas they had very good odds on their craps tables and 5 dollar min.

Wizard of Odds - Vegas blackjack survey
The link above ranks Vegas casinos based on the house advantage they enjoy because of the particular rules they enforce.

I almost always play at the Mirage. They generally have $10 tables, but if you get there really early in the morning you will find $5.

single deck and pays 3:2 on blackjack? or is it 6:5?

Single deck almost always pays 6:5, which is a horrible disadvantage to the player. Avoid at all costs.
