Best PIV MoBo on the market rigth now?

I`m about to embark on building a PIV system and would like to know the best PIV MoBo out there right now, also a good brand name Power Supply, RAM and Video Card.

Thanks

My personal opinion is that ABit'S TH7II is the best board, For the memory, TH7II uses PC800 RDRAM. Note that you must use 2 sticks of RDRAM in TH7II. So to get 256Megs of RDRAM on it, you would buy 2 128MB sticks of it. The best 2 RDRAM makers are Corsair and Samsung. 3 good power supply makers are Antec, Enlight, and Enermax. Video card, well it depends on what kind of user are you. A big gamer should take GeForce3 Ti 200. It is the best value.

I like my Intel D850MVL... sure, it's not the ideal thing for the hardcore hardware enthusiast, but if you're not planning on overclocking (you didn't say you were, and I'd guess that most overclockers would be going Athlon XP anyways), it's good. Nice and stable, I haven't had any problems with it (I'm running WinXP and a 1.9GHz P4). If you want to overclock or tweak things, then listen to the other posters, probably. For RAM, I'm using Samsung PC800. Works nicely too.

For video cards, your $$$$$ is the main limiting factor... I've heard on the video card forum that GF3 Ti200s provide some of the best bang for the buck right now. Now, which brand to get is a good question... some hardware sites do have comparisons of the various brands, I think. (My video card is a Visiontek Ti500, works nicely enough, except I have no clue how to make DVI work...)

This board that you write of where can you see it on line, and what about this VIA board that AnandTech has the Jan review on, is it stable also who online you could see and buy these powersupply you mentioned?

For all this look first at Newegg.com. They'[ve got great prices, huge selection, and many praise it for good service. If u can't find something, then looka at Pricewatch.com.

As for the VIA P4X266 boards, they really should all be avoided. The 845-D, 850, and SiS 645 are all faster than it and have better stability than the P4X266 boards.

Here us what I wrote on a similar question.

Oh, and yes...Newegg is by far my favorite etailer. I ordered about $1500 worth of small item on Sunday and it was mailed out monday - FedEx comfirmation and all. They are the best!!

No OCing just plain and simple digital photography and presentation. a PIV 1.6 at the most any sugestions?

Thanks

Get an Intel board if you're not overclocking. D850MVL for RDRAM, and D845GB for DDR.

And I'm really not sure why Athlon4All likes the Abit TH7-II -- it's a good board, but I think both the ASUS P4TE & the D850MVL are much better boards. Any particular reason you like the Abit over the Intel or ASUS, Athy?
