Wikipedia puts one to the cnter of mass, one to the head. The first to immobilize the target, the second to kill. This does not correspond with Zombieland.

this doesn't explicitly specific pistols which can have far less stopping power, especially if noise suppressed, and thus two shots instead of one

the method I described includes a third shot or basically a "triple tap"

double tap means 2 shots to the heart. Then you add one 1 the head.

I would have to say the Dubble Tap is two quick shots from a gun. It does not matter where it is at, it only matters how long in between the two shots.

I just confirmed this with a CCW, Handgun, and rifle instructor.
