Which PIII is the best for overclocking?

550E
600E
650E
700E
750E
800E
850E

Please rank the three best (no1, no2, no3)...

It sure depends lot of the mobo, but is it possible to talk in general?
Is there any "serialnumber" or anything that can make it better (year, week or anything similar)?

Thanks

there's no sure thing with any cpu when it comes to o/clocking.
IMO, the best bang for your money is the 700E. perhaps you could PM
compuwiz1 who frequents these forums & ask him about his guaranteed o/clocked cpus that he has for sale!

Look for 700e or 750e cc0 stepping chips.

Those are probably your best bet for OCing into the 1 GHz range. Personally, I'd take a 700e cc0, 'cause to get one gig you'll be running a 143 FSB as opposed to 133 on the 750. Not a huge difference, but I'll take any boost I can get. Or, if you REALLY want the best, try to find a 1 GHz cc0 engineering sample. Can we say 1 GHz guaranteed, and unlocked? Of course to play that game you'll need some damn good RAM, but it can yield some very nice performance. They're hard to find, though.
