Hi,
I'm trying to setup a portal for a user group. I need just a few things, like
forum, main news page, file sharing ability, picture gallery, and possiby collaboration tools.
I'm not sure which is the best to use. I need something like nuke or post nuke, or geeklog. I know they have extensions and or plugins.
Is there one that also comes with a forum, that's integrated. I setup a forum, and
all the users are in a mysql database. I saw some articles about a container script to massage the data so that if someone logs in and registers, it's registered in the forum and the portal. Is this necessary? Every time I install a portal to test, I havn't seen one that comes with an integrated forum. (Like the invision powerboard. (stand alone forum)
I already have one of those setup, but It would be great to figure out how to have the registration script add users to a portal also. (anybody have any tuts on how to add in the mysql to the login or new user pages of a portal)
Any hints.
It's for a lightwave group in new york. I would like to be able to have every one chat and maybe collaborate on simple animation projects together. It would be great if there was a portal for artists. Something that you could have all the users check in and out animatic shots. (but that's something I think I'd have to have someone program) I think I could do it in flash, but I would have to figure out how to have it integrated into what ever portal I eventually choose.
Well, just a general plea of help to anybody who setup a portal website with a forum.
Thanks.
