Best phone (LG) ever made

I just read their Optimus Pro review and this phone is awesome. Same size as the Note II at 5.5 inches diagonally but better in every way (I don't care for a stylus. Had one on my old Windows phones and it was a waste of space). the most important thing is the screen. A Full HD IPS that's very bright and very beautiful. Can't get better than that. Also, not sure if it'll come here, but LG throws in an extra battery. Finally, 32GB standard and it supports SDXC.

I believe they said it was coming to the US but nothing more than that. As for the stylus, I'm not artistic and my handwriting is, after years of using computers, really primitive so it won't be missed. I had a Windows Tablet years ago and used it to take notes in school but it was a hassle to share those notes.

LG has the transparency multitasking correct? I remember seeing a clip of that, was pretty cool. Better than Samsung's multi window.

I just don't get LG. I like their newer designs a lot- but I just personally don't see them making any headway.

Yes, I know it's anecdotal but: I've never seen anyone- not a single person- with any of the newer LG smartphones. Not one, ever.

Daily I see tons of Note 2's, even the Note 1, tons of SGS3's, iPhones out the wazoo... but never an LG phone. Why aren't they more popular? Is it that no carriers have them? Verizon currently has several (granted lackluster) LG models, and I've never once seen one in the wild.

I haven't read the review yet, just making comments on the looks only. Not sure what to think of that look.

What's with the sliver Home button? Did they not try to push it during testing?

I like the notification LED lighting it up though. Battery life is a bit disappointing too.

Absolutely- I like the sleek design of the current Optimus phones. I'd certainly notice if someone had one.

And that weird square Intuition phablet with a pen would be impossible to miss, but never seen one in the wild.

Stylus makes the Note. LG should have copied the digitizer and stylus too if they wanted to do it right. Without it, this LG phone is boring large phone.

As for the LG phone coming with spare battery, that's standard practice with phones sold in Korea. It's nothing special. We just get ripped off with our phone purchases here with no included spare battery and higher priced cell plans.

Yep, the Note II in korea comes with the standalone spare battery charger with spare battery. Also, just to keep this in discussion in "phablet" territory, the new Pantech Vega 6 (Korean only 6" smartphone) comes with a spare battery and standalone charger too.

maybe people don't know the LG Viewty here but that was a solid phone.

In one sense, I could understand the design change. On store displays, Optiimus Gs don't look that interesting to average consumers. I remember going to a Bestbuy w/ my family and they were all interested in shiny Galaxy, Lumia, and Razrs (and of course, iPhones) but did not give much look to Optimus Gs. Optimus Gs look definitely muted, and its all black/glass-design doesn't "pop."

Which is unfortunate because I was the only one (among my family members) who appreciated the beauty of Optimus G that members of this board know. Despite its immaculate construction and high-end specs, Optimus G looks downright average on store displays.

I guess that's why they changed the design.

I'm using an iPhone 5 now but I've decided to ditch it for an IPS phablet. Question just becomes when one will be available in the States.

I like the Optimus Pro G a great deal. I would have preferred on-screen buttons, but it's not a deal breaker. I'm glad this model has a physical home button and not a capacitive one.

I like everything this phone has to offer. Lack of a stylus is a non-issue for me. Q button can be used as a camera shutter. Removable backing. Incredible screen. Even the skin looks good. It's coming to North America in Q2. I just wish we had a better idea as to when exactly. (April - June is very vague.)

My other IPS options would be the Ascend Mate (probably too big), ZTE Grand Memo (only 1 GB of RAM). Pantech's Vega 6 is limited with respect to data speeds on cell networks in the States. Blu's Quattro 5.7 HD is a cheap phablet option available at the end of March.
