The best Pho I've had is in Sacramento, CA. Pho Bac Hoa Viet. The one located downtown. Their Garlic Chicken is also a regular dish I order. Where do you go?

Are there even national Pho chains? I would imagine this will just be a list of random locally owned places.

That said, I haven't tried or paid attention enough to know good pho from bad pho. So I just go to whatever place is closest or happens to be in my path.

Yes, there are several, but don't expect them everywhere as McD or Subway.

Pho Pasteur and Pho Bang are the top two names that I saw in cities with large Asian population such as Dallas, Houston, New York City.

OP lives in Sac and never tried Saigon Bay (Howe Ave)? :eek:MG the best place for pho! The soup is amazing, #9. The only "chain" i know of is Pho King (PK), nasty though.

Pho Pasteur is a big pile of MSG dung. All in all, it's too hard to rate Pho places though, people just have different tastes and expectations.

Some like their broth clear, some like it with all the tasty floaters. How about the meat? Sirloin or rib eye, well done or on the side so you can dunk in yourself? What about the tendon/flank/brisket/beef balls?

And the pho noodles, man you can fuck that up quick. do you prefer thin or thick noodles or a mixture of both?

What about chicken pho? Is it made with foster farm or expensive free range chicken?

Best pho imho...home made ftw. especially the day-after-broth from bottom of the pot.

edit: btw, if you haven't tried ox tail pho, you need to NOW

Probably in Vietnam. There is a place here that has good pho, but I forget its name. It's something lame like #1 pho or something. Delicious though. Served with a big plate of limes, basil, some other herb, and mung bean sprouts, and hot peppers.

Well, now I know where I'm going this weekend.

Pho Phu Vuong Quan Tan Binh Duong Le Van Sy

That place has to be in Vietnam. Is it in Hanoi because I don't recognize the street name and I was in Saigon last year.

In Saigon, Pho 24 are in a lot of places in the city. I do like Pho Hoa on Pasteur Street, always crowed.

Pho Bich Nga

(there was actually a place with this name in Vancouver)

For places that are still open: Pho Tan.
