Best Pentium-D motherboard?

Don't ask why I have the Neo-F. 😛 (or the Intel. hehe).

Anyway, any suggestions for something good to replace it with? I can't even increase memory frequency this board, so PC2-6400 is running at stock 533mhz speeds on it, etc.

I was looking at one of the NF4 boards that have the SB audio on them since I get some interference w/the onboard on this one and do play some games. Oh, and I have an eVGA 7800GT.

TIA!

Bump. 😉

Basically, is it going to make much of a speed difference if I can run my memory at PC2-6400 speeds instead of the 533MHz I have to with this board? I realise FSB and memory would be asynchronous in this case. Thinking of an MSI P4N Diamond.

Bumping again. So would I notice any difference in speed if I had a board I could run memory at 800 instead of the 667 I am stuck with on this one?

How much do you want to spend on the motherboard? What type of processor do you have? The best way to increase performance with the current Intel platform is drop the mulitiplier, increase the fsb, and run the memory as close to a 1:1 ratio as possible at the lowest latency possible.

I have a Pentium-D 830. It only seems to run at (read boot at all) if I stay at 15x212 or less. I can't change the multiplier on it. I have an XP-90 for the heatsink with a Nexus 92mm fan on it.

The Memory is 2x1GB PC2-6400 by Patriot. The ONLY settings I have for memory are auto, 533, and 667. Auto just runs it at 667, but I can set the latency fairly low since I'm underclocking it. I am just wondering if I'll get a noticeable difference if I bought a different motherboard that would allow me to run the memory at 800MHz+.

But, that P4N Diamond board is like $190 or so, too. :|

Thanks, btw.
