I am currently interest in getting one PDA. so i just start into market research.

as i drop by my local futureshop. i play palm os4.1 and ms windows ce.

i did like to get some of the feedback on which is better.

i have compare those model

Palm 515 with palm os4.1 $649.99CDN. VS Toshiba E310 ms windows ce $649.99CDN

Sony NR70V with palm os4.1 $999.99CDN VS Toshiba E740 ms windows CE $949.99CDN

so i more favorite pack pc at this point.

i think hardware wise, packpc are always have better stuff. (palm 515 33mhz 16mb vs Toshiba E310 206mhz 32mb ram. Sony NR70v 66mhz, 16mb, digital cam vs toshiba e740 400mhz,64mb,Wireless LAN, 802.11b )

software wise. i think it's about the ms windows ce are better then palm os. Maybe because i am more used to ms interface,
but as for price and preformance ratio, i think pack pc is better.

i was suprise when sale reps told me that most people perfer palm OS. so they outsell packpc.

i have never use palm os before. i just like to know what made palm os so good.

The way i look at it, if i choose pack pc. i pay less money, i get better hardware, an os that can do everything palm os do. and some other thing that palm os cannot do.

IT'S A NO BRAINER. BUT I DON'T GET IT. WHY PALM OS SELL MORE?
can someone enlight me.

Simplicity. and price. You can't get a pocketPC for $150 unless there's some major sales going on. Most of the sales are at the low end of the spectrum, I would imagine.

Just bought a PocketPC after much the same debate you are having -- I decided on the AudioVox Maestro, had expandablilty (SD and MMC) and was one of the cheaper ones (since I didn't feel I would be using it all the time, I didnot want to invest much into it). I got a PocketPC because it had the software (GIS, GPS, and database stuff I needed. Palms are much better at organization, calendars, and personal things than the Pocket PC, although the gap is closing as they are getting closer in their specs. I guess the answer to your question is another question, what do you want it for? Answer this then look at the software offered by both.
