Best PCI (not PCI-E) wireless card for desktop under $40?

Thought my new motherboard had a wi-fi chip - it does not, so I need an expansion card. Running Windows 7 with Motorola SBG6580 router. Any advice? Thanks!

Just to put it in perspective for you, my reference wi-fi solution was a chip built into the motherboard of my Dell XPS 8500. So if I could get a PCI solution that's at least as good as that one was without messing with external cables and USB ports, I'd be good with that.

So the strategy is.

If I had a Cra*y component it should be replaced by a Similar Cra*y component. :\ - :hmm: - 😱.

In any case here is a Dual Band PCI card - http://www.amazon.com/Linksys-Wirele...+card+wireless

It was more "it wasn't broke and although it probably wasn't the best thing in the world, I'd like to be back at that level, at least" 🙂. I picked up a Netgear A6100 dongle. Will see how it works.

I'd suggest getting a router and hooking it up as a client AP to your wifi and using ethernet to the router. It is least painless way to handle the situation since you don't have to worry about usb/power saving profiles/authentication!
