Best pc133 ram?

What is the best pc133 ram? I don't just mean performance, but price as well. From what I understand, if two sticks run at the same speed (mhz) and timings then there's really no performance differences between the manufacturers. I'm running mushkin rev1.5 right now, but I'm thinking of moving into the kt133a arena, where speeds above 160mhz fsb are achievable. Thus I would like to get 256 of new ram that will run at speeds of 150+ at cas 222. So far here's what I've come up with:
  • Mushkin rev 3 $224
  • Mushkin rev 2 $158
  • Corsair 150 $100
  • OCZ (gasp) 150 $110
  • Memman infineon/micron $113
Going from that, I feel that the Mushkin is overpriced. Please, if you've had experience with any of these modules, help me out. Practically speaking, I will most likely give my pci and agp cards a break and keep the fsb between 150-155. Oh, and what are the advantages of 2x128 versus 1x256. Thanks for the help.

Cheers

Kingmax
  • Runs at cas 332.
Crucial
  • Runs at cas 322.

I hate to be so picky, but I am really only considering sticks that can run 222 at 150+. I know they both make good ram, and it is cheap :)

I am partial to Mushkin. They are a little pricey but, in my experience at least, they have a tremendous product, they stand behind it and they have outstanding customer service. Plus, every time that I have called them with a question their CSR has always been very knowlegable. In my opion, it one of those deals where you get what you pay for.

Uh yea, check this out. If you feel better spending twice the money for the Rev3s, be my guest.

Crucial (no need to consider generic Micron chips)
Mosel (such as Mushkin rev 1.5, much cheaper)
any generic japanese brand chips(ok if you can buy it cheaper than Crucial in US)

I've yet to see any hardcore overclocker RAM using Japanese brand RAM chips. Most of them are either Taiwanese, German or American.

lxi, nice link and a good point but like I said, I'm just partial to Mushkin because I have had nothing but Fantastic experiences with them. I'll be the first to admit that you can find just as good, and possibly better, memory out there but I'm just loyal to a default.
