yeah i know that, i mean like specs of a system...as in what would you go out and buy if you had the choice of anything currently avaliable??

There are several threads about this sort of thing... do a search.

You can spend $20,000 or more on a computer if you just want to throw money at it.
 
all depends on what you want.

Do you want more than 1 monitor? Are you a stickler for the highest resolution?
Are you a heavy gamer? Do you want a server? How much harddrive do you need?
Are you a stickler for a silent machine?

The price can go as high as YOU want it to.
