I'm gonna order 1, mebbe 2 subscriptions. Any suggestions as to which one is best? PC Gamer? Total PC Gaming?

Is there a better one than what I've listed?

PC Gamer is shit these days.
I recommend online articles. They're free and easier to read. Not to mention you dont have to wait for delivery.

Ditto. PC Gaming Magazines used to be cool when game demo's were alot harder to get a hold of i.e 3.5" floppy disc with Commander Keen included with said magazine.

Now typically I just read forums for information on games.

I stopped all my gaming mag subscriptions last year. They are no longer adequate for my needs. I can get more detailed info straight off the Net now. At one time I subscribed to four different mags. The only PC mag I still subscribe to is MaximumPC and I'm considering letting it go after the current subscription is up. PC Gaming print is dead. The Net killed it.

I'm not saying the quality of the article is better, but holding the magazine in your hand is so much more satisfying.

FWIW, I got a cheap subscription to Game Informer, which isn't strictly PC but has had a lot of interesting content over the last few months.

I used to think so too, until I realized I was getting ripped off and it stopped being satisfying.
Otherwise known as: My relationship with the former best gaming magazine.

You dont always have the internet, so mags are still viable for me.

PC Gamer is really the only PC gaming magazine. Maximum PC has some gaming news, but its mostly hardware. Same for CPU (Computer Power User) which is the most cutting edge/geekiest of them all. I enjoy them all personally.

For what it's worth, I have never seen anybody in this forum recommend like any magazine.

I used to subscribe to about 4, all but PC Gamer are out of business.

The ones you missed are a couple MMO magazines like Beckett's.

This. It's certainly worth 50 cents an issue. I got mine for like $4.95 - the cost of one magazine.

Everyone is missing out on that crucial time when a magazine comes in handy... when you're doing number 2 in the bathroom... Laptops are just so cumbersome in there.

That is why they invented netbooks.
If he's resting it on his legs, bigger would probably be easier. If you're skinny, you could probably just put it on the floor and lean forward.

I don't like where this conversation is going.
