Been with easynews for two months, but it's been really hard to get a good connection for the last couple weeks, so I've been using the my ISP's groups.

Same. I have been with Easynews for the past 2.5 years. Have about 100 GB saved up.

Never had a connection problem with easynews.. Must be something wrong with your connection.

Easynews > * just because of the global search function, which IIRC none of the others have. I love just being able to search for something and get it, as opposed to waiting for 50 billion headers to download, and then search through them manually.

Yes I know there are websites out there that will search the newsgroups for you, but they don't seem to find a fraction of the stuff that easynews does.

Easynews. They are plenty fast (maxes out my connection at home and at the datacenter) and the gigs roll over. I hate downloading headers and piecing junk together. Their web interface, global search, and auto unrar is the best.

I use giganews. $25/mo unlimited, 70 days retention, and I get 1500 kB/s... I also have newzbin for the indexing.

Global Search, what is the advantage of that?

Why not just use www.binsearch.info or www.yabse.com for NZB searching?

Yes, I have heard that Giganews is the best, however it seems more expensive than Newshosting, so if you're on a bdget, then go with Newshoting IMO.

I have been using usenetserver.com for about the last several years. I think they bill me about $15 per month.
They allow up to 10 simultanious connections. I have a 6mbit connection, and I can very easily saturate 100% of the connection on their servers.
The retention is around 30-35 days.

I also am on the $40 for 3 month plan for unlimited downloads with UNS. Yes, service is not as perfect as the other big names. Also retention time is much shorter, but it fits the bill. And yeah, NZB searching comes in handy. But I'm old school and still like looking through a few million headers.

Binsearch and Yabse are no match for Easynews Global Search.

Anyone know of a service that offers pre paid? I don't want to subscribe monthly, just want to pay until I'm done downloading what I need.
