I can take it to the bathroom and watch a movie while I take a dump.

Also, You can use a headphone, then you don't have to hear your neighbor taking a dump in a public stall.

We have a 2000 server here running media services in our office. It's hooked up to the tv-out of our neighbor's receiver. Basically, he watches Yankee games all day. I'd go to the bathroom with my e740 and load up WMP and watch streaming baseball while sitting on the throne. Pretty cool. My e740 has since died though. :(

We have some high-end PocketPC's with built in barcode scanners where I work. The barcode scanners are great! I can hit the ceiling halfway across my building above the cubicle walls.

Developing code for them (embedded C++) can be a pain, though.

I was on the can today and I wanted some music, so I used BeMused on my cell phone to open up winamp and made a quick playlist to listen to.

i.e. I control winamp from my phone and crank it

I've found that another benefit of having one is that you can pull it out and pretend to be doing something on it when you need employee help at BestBuy or another store. The employees know that you spend money on useless stuff, so they're more willing to help. It never fails.

You must sit there for a very long time. The hassle of having that thing around a toilet full of water (and other things) is not worth the trouble. I had a Treo 600 and I posted from the can once... it was fun for 2 seconds.

Which devices? I've developed quite a number of applications with Symbol and Intermec's PPC units, and I didn't have any trouble at all. eVC++ is a much better tool than eVB, and the .NET Compact Framework and VS.NET is even more so.
