BEST P2P PROGRAM (Minus the Spyware) ???

Any votes for Kazaa lite? While I haven't been on in awhile, I can almost always find what I'm looking for and the Spyware is at a minimum w/ Lite I think.....

KazaaLite used to be great. I haven't been using a P2P program lately though. My friend uses KazaaLite and told me he has trouble getting good sources - plenty of sources found but too many don't download or are extremely slow.

Just thank the RIAA for what we have now... :disgust:

kazaa kite++ is sound and get me what i need it is clean and easy to use also.
however post sp2 it doesnt seem to do nearly as well

DC++, since it forces everyone to share many gigabytes of stuff, so you don't get a situation like kazaa were at least half don't share anything at all and the few who do share don't have open slots or have their upload bandwidth maxed. I find it's much easier to find rare stuff and I get better speeds then other programs. Unfortunately it's not very user friendly and takes a while to learn to use well.

Well if the legit Kazaa program didn't load a bunch of ad/spyware maybe Kazaa Lite wouldn't have to exist. 😉 😛

i know. i was making a sarcastic remark about kazaa media desktop's business practices and the judgement that ordered kazaa lite shut down.

Heh, my bad for missing the sarsacm. Should've known considering you're the king of ad/spyware removal.

I tried DC++ for about 10 minutes. Looks pretty involved but I'll give it another try later.

One question... Is it safe to share a bunch of files? I'm fine with sharing but I don't want to get a letter from my ISP about the RIAA wanting to talk to me. 😉

I tried Azureus and it keeps on giving me total network outages. I have to shut it down and recycle my router just to get connection back.

Seems allright, but it's definitely not clear cut as to how to get the most out of this program.

Any tips?

Thanks,

YET another vote for dc++. if i dont see it on dc++, chances are i wont see it anywhere else - kidna like google.

Limewire and of course Bittorent (Azureus client) has worked very well for me.

Someone also linked me to a web page that searches all the shares on the big school network here, that was awesome but the page isn't up now. You download ultra fast since they're on your lan.

No, this was a webpage. You could search as if it were a search engine in IE, Firefox, or whatever and get lists of results. You just click a file it found and the normal download dialogue pops up.

It WAS here:

http://shoal.mine.nu/

EDIT: I believe the page ran something called "StrangeSearch" by the title that was used to name my bookmark.
