best overlockable BARTON

I got a barton 2500+ up to 2.4ghz (3200+ is 2.2ghz) on air. But no experience with the more expensive chips.

got my 2500+ from the first batch that newegg ever got and shes OCing just nice 2.3ghz @ 1.975v yeah may seem like alot of juice but shes been this way for months with no problems.........the newer cores dont need as high voltage to get this speed tho 🙂

Epox 8rda+
2x256MB XMS3200 Corsair

set at 1.825 volts
192x12.5=2400

using an slk800 and vantec tornado my temps under load are 37C max. I switched to a really quiet fan and the max temp is like 42c

What kind of really quiet fan are you talking about? How noisy it is ( i mean the quieter one).
I don't really want to have a vacuum cleaner in my room!!!

According to your configuration I assume that you also overlocked FSB from 333MHZ to 400MHZ, because you're using
DDR 400 Memory, is that right?

Well, even with PC2700 memory (333mhz) he could hit those speeds by stepping down the memory percentage in the bios, or increasin timings to 7-3-3-3 or something. It's all preference, but you're better off buying 400mhz memory for this kind of a clocking so you can use all of that yummy bus speed.
