I am about to purchase an Athlon XP 2100+ from excaliberpc.com and the guarantee three different cores if you want them:

1. AMD Athlon XP2100+ 1.73GHZ 384K 266 Tbred B (TRAY) (AIUHB:0247): 99.00
2. AMD Athlon XP2100+ 1.73GHZ 384K 266 Tbred B (TRAY) (AIUHB:0301): 96.00
3. AMD Athlon XP2100+ 1.73GHZ 384K 266 Tbred B (TRAY) (AIUHB:0302): 96.00

I am looking to hit a little higher than my Athlon XP 2500+ is letting me, 12x190, because no matter what it doesn't seem to like 2.3GHZ, no matter how I try to get there. Do the 1700+ chips make it up to 2.3-2.4GHZ territory? Here are the codes they gurantee for the 1700+:

1. AMD Athlon XP1700+ 1.47GHZ 384K 266 Tbred (TRAY)(JIUHB:0307VPMW): 74.00
2. AMD Athlon XP1700+ 1.47GHZ 384K 266 Tbred (TRAY)(JIUHB:0310UPMW) : 72.00
3. AMD Athlon XP1700+ 1.47GHZ 384K 266 Tbred B (TRAY) (JIUHB:0302): 61.50
4. AMD Athlon XP1700+ 1.47GHZ 384K 266 Tbred B (TRAY) (JIUHB:0307): 60.50

Which would be the best buy? Which would allow me to achieve the highest possible overclock? I know a lot of people have had luck with certain cores, so I just wanted to know which one to get...Thanks.

This one is currently here @1.8v (1.77-1.79v actual ) and it has more in it! It's been P95TT for a couple hrs and 18+hrs F@H which is even more stressfull on some ares of the CPU especially the gromacs core. I'll be ramping higher when my Mushkin 3200DDR gets here and I finish tweaking the cooling mods ect.

the 0302's seem to be one of the best weeks for the 2100+'s

in terms of the 1700+'s... it's hard to judge which is the best considering the new DLT3C'S are getting up into the 2.2 to 2.4 range now...

i have an 0302 @ 2.3 ghz and a 0307 DLT3C @ 2.2 ghz

My 0302 is doing 2.3 GHz right as we speak!

Same here, with cheap Samsung 512mb pc2700 from newegg, I am doing 170MHZ x 14 @ 2.38GHZ 1.8V with SLK800/Epox 8RDA. Got mines from newegg.

My 302 does 2400 on air at 1.75vCore - one sweet processor.

My Barton 2500 struggles to get to 2250 at 1.8vCore.
