SLI, matx, and C2D does not exist.

Best overclocking C2D motherboard, matx is...

Gigabyte GA-G33M-DSR2.

Hands down no question without a doubt.

That's too bad. Friend has a matx S939 SLI board (EVGA), and wants to upgrade to C2D, and keep the matx form-factor and SLI.

What video cards is he running?

SLI is such a waste, especially since one 8800GTS or GTX is more than enough.

I went from the same evga board running 2x7900GTs to an Asus P5B VM with a single 8800GTS and it was way faster.

He's hooked on the SLI craze, just to be cool, I'm afraid. Trying to talk "sense" into him isn't going to work.

He currently has 2x6600GT, 2x6800Ultra, 2x7800GTS, 2x7900GTX.

I'd like to have a pet unicorn too, but that's as imaginary as a C2D SLI mATX board.

A single 8800GTS would probably be faster than that SLI combo.

Just tell him it doesn't exist (which is true) and likely will never exist (educated guess). If he keeps obsessing, find something different to talk about than computers.

I'm curious what screen resolution your friend is running. If its 1600x1200 or less he wont see much gain with SLI. Dual card setups realize more performance gains with 1900 and above resolutions.
