Which Output do you find is the best in Winamp is the best? I have:

-Disk Writer...
-DirectSound
-waveOut
-WMA Output

I am using a Santa Cruz s-card.

Is one better for smooth playing?

wavOut uses the soundcard's wavetable, and in Win2k & XP on some sound cards, the volume knob will be linked to the master volume, so other sounds played when WinAMP is open will result in quiet/loud sounds. This is especially bad for playing WinAMP while gaming, as the game sounds will be synced with WinAMP. The solution is to use the DirectSound plug-in. It essentially uses DirectSound acceleration, and should not link WinAMP's volume control to Windows'. The Disk Writer does just that; it writes the files being played in WinAMP to a predisposed location as WAV files. Useful for decoding MP3s, OGG, MPCs, and what have you. WMA Output is self-explanatory. Although, it's worthy of note that the WMA Output plug-in is not included in the WinAMP Lite installation pack.
