Best OS to use w/ this hardware???

I wasn't sure which forum this should go under, (OS, or General Hardware), but I figured since more people read this board I'd put it here.

Im building a new rig (tonight it looks like form my tracking #s) and I am very unsure as to what operating system I should install on it. I am trying to decide between Windows XP and Windows 2000, but what's holding me back is driver support for the hardware I have. Here is what I ordered.

tbird 1.4
epox 8k7a+ mobo
gainward geforce3
hercules game theater xp sound card
lite on 24x cdrw
pioneer 16x dvd

My question is, does this hardware have current drivers for windows xp??? I heard tht for the Hercules sound card dosen't.. so I'd have to use some generic driver and not get any 3d sound.

So which OS shoul I go with???

I think you'd be fine with either, but if I were you I'd put 2000 on it now and move to XP once your apps and drivers are "XP certified"

Go with Windows 2000

then later if you still want to go to XP then you can upgrade.
