I am going to build an Epox 8KHA+ system next week. Is there any particular order that anyone suggests in installing drivers? Are there certain things that I should avoid?? I still haven't received my Epox yet, so I don't know what BIOS it has on it.
Here is my new system to be built:
Epox 8KHA+
Athlon XP 1800+
Crucial DDR 2100 2 x 256
Plextor 12/10/32A
IBM ATA100 EIDE 40 GB
Quantum Bigfoot EIDE 6 GB
Matrox G400 Dualhead AGP
Samsung Syncmaster 755DF x 2
3COM NIC 3C905TX
Thermalright SK-6 Heatsink
Antec 400 Watt PS (PP403X)
Windows XP or Win2k SP2 (haven't decided yet)
Here is the order I was planning:
Boot to floppy. FDISK and reformat c: Reinstall Windows 2k/XP + SP2
BIOS flash (if needed) to 11/2/01
VIA 4-in-1 v4.32a
DirectX 8.0a
Onboard sound (VIA 8322 chipset driver)
Matrox Powerdesk v5.72
Do I need to install VIA busmaster drivers (I've heard that both Win2K and XP both have it).
