Best order of driver installation for a homebuilt pc?

install xp
then get you nic or modem going if you have broadband TURN ON A FIREWALL,
then av software and get online and do a update of it
windows update for all of the criticals dx9 and wmplayer9 stay clear of the driver updates on windows update
next disable av auto protect"very important" and install mobo and vga drivers
thats how i do it

connect to internet, go to windows update and grab everything.

The "inf update" for mainboards with Intel chipset should be the first drivers installed. After that, video drivers should be installed to bring the resolution to acceptable. All the rest after that.
Anyway, the firewall/antivirus are critical before connecting to the web.
