what are my options.
i know of the power color radeon 9000
any nvidia based offerings i could use?
how much will the pci bus hamper the performance of any said card(i have been on agp since 98!)
edit to clarify i need something that tapers down from the bracket. or just isnt the full heigth of the bracket like a sb live.
shortness helps too
i do not need the lp bracket, just a small powerful pci card.
:/

Are you saying you need either a card with a half-height bracket or near to one, where you can cut off the top so that it fits in your case? What is the maximum height of card you can use?

i dont need a half height bracket, the pci slot is full ehight, however the pcb must be lower than the actual bracket
its for an ASUS Pundit

hmm in that case I believe a radeon9100 PCI is going to fit.

This is based on my calculation of the height of the radeon 9100 from a picture with a ruler as a scale. Calculated height is about 3.7inch +/-0.2inch(may be .3 inch)

And the maximum height that was measured by a pundit user in sudhian, Chynn, 4 inch is the maximun height that the pundit is going to take a card.

So technically with the information I gathered it seems like it will fit. Hopefully the information are accurate enuff. Coz otherwise I am screwed.

Meaning I have not yet have a pundit with radeon9100 in it.

Actually the picture of the radeon9100 pci shows that it is actually higher then the bracket itself.

Urghh I hope it fits.!!!

If you like, I could measure the height of the 9100 after I get the kids to school on the morning.

Thanks alot that should be great help.

When you measure the height do you measure the inserted part of the PCB?

And I just want to say that your review is great help too.

Thanks again Mloot.

Well, I measured the height of the 9100 PCI. I did not include the part of the card that is inserted into the PCI port. The height of the PCB is 3 & 15/16", measured from the point of the top of the PCI port (basically, the height of the card minus the inserted portion). The top of the card extends 1/4" above the top of the PCI bracket.

Hope that answers your questions.
