Best opening to a James Bond film?

The World is Not Enough was pretty awesome.

The opening of Tomorrow Never Dies was the only good thing about that movie, aside from Teri Hatcher of course.

The older movies weren't like the recent ones with massive action in the opening scene. I think I like Thunderball the best of those.

Was it Goldeneye where he jumps off the cliff after the airplane, gets in and manages to get it started and pull it out of a dive? Not very realistic, but cool scene.

Well....the theme song to You Only Live Twice is probably the best of them all....if that's what you mean.

First saw that on a trans-atlantic flight. I and the guy next to me busted out laughing when he got into the plane and fired it up.

Yeah, that was Goldeneye. The plane was running already, it had just managed to roll off the runway/cliff before he could get back in it. Very good opening to that film too.

They're all good actually, but TWINE is probably my favorite.

from another website: "Goldfinger is my choice because of its wit and small touches. Bond steps out of a wetsuit in a tuxedo - perfectly pressed no less. He sees the attacker from the reflection in a woman's eye. Having no gun, he tosses an electric fan into the bathtub, frying his assailant. And of course the one-liner: "Shocking, simply shocking."

I also like the movie,because it is one of the first movies I recall seeing;
at the Drive-in movies with my parents.
It was cold out too,the drive-in theater had gas heaters that you could use,
to help warm the car,as well as the speakers that hung off the window,LOL.

Tilly Masterson's Ford Mustang was supposedly the first appearance by a Mustang in a major motion picture. The Mustang was introduced in April of 1964 and Goldfinger was released in December. Ford supplied many cars to the film including the CIA agents' Thunderbird, all of Goldfinger's goons cars, and the Lincoln Continental that is crushed.
