I used to always get my pictures printed at the local walmart/sam's club using the 1 hour digital photo kiosk. But yesterday I went to both walmart and sam's club and between the two stores, they have 6 kiosks and all 6 had broken CF readers. How dumb do people have to be to bend every fvcking pin on the reader? If it doesn't fit, don't push harder, you just trying to put it in the wrong way!

So now I'm looking to get my pictures printed from the comfort of my own home without having to deal with the grandma's that take 45 min to figure out how to print 2 pictures of their ugly grandson.

Any good experiences from online photo ordering? Any horror stories?

never had a problem in my 10 years of dealing with them, nor has my mom in her roughly 20 years.

in for results...got about 300 digital pics i need to print up sometime.

BTW, do any of them allow you to share albums and not shrink them down to postcard sizes in the process?

Best? Ofoto has been rated for highest quality by Consumer Reports. But Snapfish is the cheapest.

I used Ofoto once, for a 20x30 enlargement, they were pretty good. But nothing beats being able to do it in your house, on your own printer.

They are all the same. Just see who has a sale going on. We've used walmart.com and shutterfly.com lately we use walmart.com and have them sent to the store. then you don't have to pay shipping...

Anyone know which photo printing website give you an example of how exactly your print will look like? I hate when you choose to print a picture and when you get it delivered some parts are cut off.

Crop the picture to the right dimensions. Most digitial camera are naturally 2:3 so a 4x6 print will be like what comes out of the camera. If you want, say, and 8x10 it will cut off the edges because 8x10 != 2:3 ratio

when I was finalizing my snapfish order, it alerted me that since digicam pics aren't exactly standard res/size, the top and bottom will be cut off a bit. They gave the option of choosing a slightly smaller print size... it's not exactly 4x6 but close.

I use Walgreens online ordering. I have used ofoto, snapfish, and shutterfly, and of the 3, shutterfly consistantly had the best looking prints.

for the everyday give to friends 4x6, i use xpphoto.com... they are part of lifepics or whatever, and picasa will directly link and upload. I don't really like picasa for image management, but it is great as an uploading client (image viewing is cool too.. but doesn't work the way i'd want for that)

Most of the pictures have been already cropped before uploading. Going back through several pictures is not an easy task.
Example, on winkflash a certain picture cuts off the top or the bottom, on snapfish it doesnt show what will be the end result.

See the bolded part of his post?

My mom used to use them as well... their prices don't look that great though. I use costco.com if I want to pick up locally or adoramapix.com if they have a sale.
