Thanks for the plug, RossMAN! :D

ZippyD, tell me the knife you want and I will show you the best price. If you have no idea then the knife forums on ramanon.com are a great place to start... Lot's of knife guys ready to help inexperienced first time buyers. ;)

if they are not made with teh japanese steal tehy are teh inferior.

I'd check out Ramanon.com first before any serious knife purchase, even if just for the babes ;)

I am thinking of a better knife for some protection if needed. I use my Swiss army with LED flashlight a lot in my IT job. Screwdrivers for various pc work, light to see under desks and inside the rack, knives for the various boxes that arrive daily.

Until I got one I never thought I had the need.

Prices were reasonably good. New Graham has great prices, but not as much selection. I haven't bought recently, so these opinions might be stale.

that place has insane shipping prices $10 is their cheapest!!
oof. I don't remember it being that bad, but I think it's $10 flat, which isn't that much on $200-300 in knives and flashlights. On further examination, their prices are mostly "okay" with a few good ones.

Sandvik's 12C27 is one of the best stainless steels right now. Swedish, not Japanese.
