Buddy is about to buy a 1999-04 style 'Stang. He's looking at an '02,'03, and '04 over the next week or so to see which is in best condition and what-not.

He's going to want to do a few things to it when he gets it, replace some of the body work (stock bumpers with cobra or mach bumpers, idk) and he wants to do a CAI, exhaust, and tune.

What online dealers are the best for Mustang parts? I've found more than enough on google but no idea which is trust worthy.

Whats the newegg of the 'Stang world?

Not sure about direct/only Mustang parts but Rockauto.com has a lot of parts. Thats where I get most of my stuff for anything I work on now. They also do have Cobra bumpers. Juts look up the same year mustang but pick the Cobra edition to get those ext. body parts.

I am sure some ford fans will chime in soon with just mustang/ford sites.

Lethal Performance for performance after market parts, Tousley Ford for OEM parts. Discounts and specials for SVT Performance.com members.

He should swing for a 03/04 Cobra if he can. It will be cheaper than building a Fobra and still be much faster by the time the same money is spent. If not a 03/04 a Mach or any Cobra is still a better choice.

Second the idea of an '03 or '04 Cobra.

Buying a standard '03 or '04 Mustang is ok, but for goodness sake, do NOT put the Cobra badges on it. That's just asking for trouble if you ever meet someone who's a Cobra enthusiast.

To go from a standard '03 to a Cobra requires crank, rods and pistons, camshafts, supercharger, damper, transmission, etc etc. There are superchargers made for the standard mustang, however the bottom end on the car is suspect if you go over 350 horsepower or so. Not to mention all the suspension changes, the shock tower reinforcements, etc etc.

If he wants a performance car, he needs to go with the Cobra.

...and if he just wants a daily driver with a bit more oomph? That looks a bit better? D:

I'll mention it but I don't think that is his plan.
