Best offline map tool for iphone 4, can google maps do it?

Parents are traveling to some coastal US islands in Pacific NW. What is the best offline map viewer that will work with GPS on an iphone 4?

I tend to use "Offline Topo Maps" for remote maps. I'm not sure it's the best, but it works well and it's relatively inexpensive for an offline map app (it's $10).

For what it's worth, they have an Android version too, and that works equally well.


Google Maps can do it - but you need to jailbreak (or at least you needed to last time that I looked into this) and it wasn't a great solution.

you don't, it's only on android afaik.

even then its overrated. if you just want a map sure, but it won't navigate for you.
