James Brown - Live at the Apollo

Runner-ups:

Lynynrd Skynyrd - One More From the Road
Allman Brothers - Live at the Fillmore East
MC5 - Kick Out the Jams
Portishead - PNYC

I'd give honorable mention to

Bob Dylan - Live 1966 ... the album where he went from acoustic to electric
for the first time, in the middle of the show no less, and the audience was yelling
at him for selling out and stuff but eventually he won them over. However,
it was initally released as a bootleg an not an official release till like 30 years later
